Annual Charity Run began as a result of the inherent goodness in the hearts of the people in the eastern region and their love for their country and society through an idea at the periodic meeting of the Parents Council at Dhahran National Schools in 1416 corresponding to 1995. All the parents, teachers and students welcomed and encouraged that idea.
A committee called “Annual Charity Run” has been formed from Parents, businessmen, teachers and students of Dhahran National Schools. The committee members have a periodic meeting at schools.
The idea of that race began to take shape gradually and the number of members of the Committee increases. It was supported by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz, the Prince of the Eastern Province at that time which represented in the patronage of all the activities of the race since its inception. It was also supported by his deputy at that time His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdul Aziz and later His Highness Prince Jalawi bin Abdul Aziz. In this regard, we cannot forget the financial support offered by businessmen and good people in the Eastern Province as well as the annual participation of many governmental and private bodies in the activities of the race. It is considered an incentive for everyone to do his/her best to make the race arrangements annually to the fullest extent.
